The Festival

The Old Cabin Classic isn’t just for racers. It’s a fun day for the whole family! Come on out for a knee-slapping good time.

Want a booth at our 2021 event? Email emma@mbosc.org for more info.

We’re zero waste! In an effort to reduce waste, disposable cups will not be available for beverages onsite. Bring your own cup to the event, or purchase an MBOSC stainless steel pint for $10 (plus, it comes with a free beer)! Coffee is also FREE all day if you have a reusable cup.

Local Artisans and Small Businesses

The Old Cabin Classic is not just a showcase for mountain biking, we are inviting local artists and small businesses out to show their wares as well. Check out neat stuff from custom bike bags to woodcuts, a portion of all purchases will go towards MBOSC’s trailbuilding fund! If you would like to sell your goods, please email maddie@mbosc.org.

Complimentary Coffee

We’ll be offering free coffee to all attendees who bring their own cup. Get buzzed!

Handmade Bike Museum

OCC showcases artisans of all types – and that includes bike artisans! To give a nod to our diverse and creative frame-building community, we host a handmade bicycle museum onsite. On display will be bikes from local frame builders, local bike companies, and local characters. If you have a bike you would like to display, let us know! Email campbellsteers@gmail.com

Kids’ Rodeo and Race

Introduce your kids to mountain biking at our Kids’ Rodeo or encourage them to improve their skills through participating in our Kids-only Race.

The Kids’ Rodeo is a supervised bike skills course made just for children. With jumps and obstacles for junior riders and course marshals throughout the Rodeo for added safety and guidance, this is the perfect opportunity for tots to improve their bike handling skills. The Kids’ Rodeo is only possible through a partnership with the Monterey Off Road Cycling Association (MORCA), the owner of the course.

Bring a bike, sign a waiver, strap a helmet on, and watch them try their skills and tackle obstacles in a challenging but safe environment. These events are great confidence-builders for beginner riders!

Got the hang of the rodeo and want to race? The race will be ten minutes long and go around the horse corral so you can cheer on our smallest racers every step of the way. Plus, no matter how many laps they do, they’ll ride away feeling like a winner with our signature metals. Sign them up through online registration.

Camping

We are excited to offer primitive camping at the event. While the accommodations are rustic, the panoramic ocean views are second to none. A limited number of spaces are available during registration.

Beer Garden & Craft Cocktails

Come out and enjoy a cold beverage and know that every time you drink one, you are helping to build more trails in Santa Cruz County. Beer will be served by Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing and Shanty Shack. Spectators will receive a drink ticket in exchange for each $5 donation to MBOSC’s trailbuilding funds. In an effort to get as close to zero-waste as possible, we will not be providing cups for beer or cocktails. Don’t forget to bring your own cup so you can enjoy all the tasty drinks! We’ll also have awesome new MBOSC mugs and metal pint glasses available for purchase.

Tasty Food

We are changing up the food options to the Old Cabin Classic this year! If you’ve been to any of MBOSC’s events, you know we take food almost as seriously as singletrack and beer. Keep checking this page for more delicious updates.
